Campground Reviews

These are campgrounds we've actually stayed at. Our reviews are based on our personal experience — what worked for us, what didn't, and whether we'd go back. We always look for dog-friendly campgrounds since Brody and Maya travel with us everywhere.

★★★★★

Normandy Farms

📍 Foxboro, Massachusetts

One of the premier campgrounds in New England. Full hookups, immaculate facilities, swimming pools, fishing pond, and excellent WiFi. Located near Gillette Stadium — perfect for Patriots fans. The sites are spacious and well-maintained. We would absolutely come back here. Dog-friendly with walking trails.

KOA Niagara Falls / Grand Island

📍 Grand Island, New York

Great location for visiting Niagara Falls. This is the campground we ended up at after our wheel incident on I-90. The staff was very helpful when we arrived late and frazzled. Good amenities, clean facilities. Note: they close for the season in mid-October, so plan accordingly.

Beautiful Adirondack setting with lake access. Scenic camping at its best — great for summer getaways. The sites are wooded and offer good privacy. Lake George village is nearby with shops and restaurants. The dogs loved the hiking trails in the area.

Thousand Trails

📍 Hershey, PA • Chestnut Lake, NJ • Williamsburg, VA

We have a Thousand Trails membership and have stayed at multiple locations. Hershey is great for visiting Hershey Park. Chestnut Lake in NJ is a nice weekend spot. Williamsburg is our favorite — it's where we started our worst travel day ever. All parks are well-maintained with good amenities.

Hickory Run State Park

📍 White Haven, Pennsylvania

About 30 minutes from Pocono Raceway, this is one of our favorite stops after NASCAR weekends. Dog-friendly with excellent hiking trails — the Labs love it here. Great scenery, well-maintained trails, and the boulder field is a must-see. State park camping at its finest.

Bar Harbor RV Park

📍 Baltimore, Maryland

An OK overnight stop when travelling south. We ended up here after our worst travel day ever. The park is functional and close to I-95 which makes it convenient for through-travelers. Not a destination campground, but serves its purpose.
